Re: [Wireless] Please help! Buffalo WHR-HP-54G bridged with WHR-

said by dart451:

Ok, I looked through the configuring WDS PDF file...pretty straight forward when you have the original Buffalo firmware setting up the bridge. Unfortunately, I have Tomato software on my first Buffalo bridge which is like trying to configure an alien space craft!? So, I guess I'm f&%@*ed! If there's anyone out there that can decifer Buffalo firmware to Tomato firmware I'd appreciate the help! Otherwise, I might as well buy a new Buffalo router so I can get the original firmware back!
That's really not necessary, "adrman" has the best advice. But if you do, and the price is right, I'll buy the old one from you.

Ok, at first I thought I bricked the whr-hp-54g...I hit the reset and can no longer access the router. I hooked it up to my computer(set it back to Auto instead of bridge)and I'm getting the internet! I still cannot access the router though! I finally figured out that I could use 192.168.1.1 and the little logon screen popped up but now no Username or password will get me into the router! Frustration is really setting in! But, at least I know I didn't brick it! Is there a special Username and password you use for Tomato firmware after you reset it? I've tried root and blank for the password...also my old username and password...can't get in!

I believe you have to go back to your original default (Buffalo) log in. On the Linksys it's blank user name, "admin" password.

Boy, I've tried everything that I can think of! I've tried root for the Username, admin...nothing seems to work! When I type 192.168.1.1, is says "The server 192.168.1.1 at tomato requires a username and password"...so I assume I'm trying to access the right router. I have the damn thing connected in place of my usual NetGear router...don't understand why I can't get into it!?
