Re: [ Billing] Anyone seeing 16 Mbps "Blast!" Slamming/Cramming? This is in Beaverton OR ... I'd sure like to hear if this story is typical or is this a spurious occurrence.
So here is the itemization on his bill:
Modem Lease Fee 02/21-03/20 $3.00 (up to two lines)
Blast! Internet 02/21-03/20 $10.00 16mbps+powerboost Speeds up to 20mbps
HSI Blast 12Mo Fret 02/21-03/20 -$10.00
High Speed Internet 02/21-03/20 $42.95
CHSI $29.99 12Mo R -$12.95
Total Comcast High Speed Internet $32.99
Last month, the two $10 items (the debit and the credit) did not appear on the bill.
If this is really going on, then it's slamming/cramming because the unrequested service is added and then later the credit disappears and then he's got a bill for $10 more. He has to call to cancel the service that he never requested? (And maybe pay Comcast's $2.00 customer service fee for that?)
If this is really going on, then don't even try to defend it. Is Comcast hoping people will just pay the $10 when the "promo" goes away? Is Comcast hoping people won't notice that the cost has gone up?
Not that Comcast has any history of doing anti-consumer things hoping that the customers won't notice...
...but it also could be a one-off thing. Some eager employee somewhere ... a test marketing thing ... what? The charge doesn't appear on my own last bill, but that was January and my friend is on a different (and later) billing date.
