Re: VZW = Crippled phones

Is it ... RIM crippling WiFi on Blackberry devices, or RIM offering customized versions of Blackberry devices (which include crippled WiFi)

Well, I don't know- RIMM does offer both GPS and WiFi specific variants of the GSM BlackBerry 8300-series Curve, so I suppose it's possible they offered the same to Verizon and Sprint and both went with the GPS over WiFi. But if such a mythical device ever existed, with all the leaks out of RIMM you'd think someone would have heard of it.

Very few RIM devices offer WiFi on AT&T as well.

Ah, but "very few" is more than "none at all"... and at&t's flagship BlackBerry, the Bold 9000, does indeed have it, while Verizon's flagship, the Storm 9530, doesn't.
