Re: [Equipment] Any way to make this device a VoIP client? OpenWRT is focused on MIPS systems, might be better to keep an eye on NSLU2/Linkstation community. With writable rootfs, this SheevaPlug is more like a regular Linux system----well, I might be wrong here, but there is also external storage available. Precompiled (arm) Asterisk binary is already in Optware feed---all we need is gaining root access(the only major issue I can think of, if its not ready by default) and put the binary to the spacious 512MB internal flash or external SD card/USB key, which should be done within few hours and nothing special/difficult here.
Custom firmware would be great, but not necessary for Asterisk. |
