Hi, Mark.
Just FYI:

Electric bills are really getting outrageous in CT. What's needed is partial re-regulation of utilities. The parties who benifited the most from deregulation were Enron et al. Otherwise more people will be looking at the alternatives in the links above [though I'm still waiting for Mr. Fusion]. |

| I wish I could agree with the re-regulation part, but just a look at California's energy problems, which resulted from interference with the free market, I have to disagree on that point. The more the government regulates, the more shortages we encounter, particularly when wage & price controls exist. Remember 1973-74?
Our town zoning won't allow wind turbines or ANY structure over 18'. In fact, when I was at Radio Shack once, a customer was buying a sat dish and the clerk asked what town the customer was in. I asked him why he wanted to know that and he said they're not allowed to sell sat dishes to residents of certain towns where zoning prohibs the 'unsightly' dishes. Go figure...
One thing's for sure.. we're being bled to death here with taxes and electric costs. The Smokey Mountains of NW Carolina are looking better every day.. |
