CV to Brand-X CNAM porting issues

This is just an FYI/warning to anyone considering porting out of CV. I think others had different experiences, so YMMV.

I just ported from CV to VOIPo, and one of the biggest concerns for me was the ability to keep my name on the outgoing CNAM. I was assured by multiple VOIPo-ers that numbers ported in keep the outbound CNAM, so I ported.

Long story short, when I woke up yesterday, the day of the actual porting, calls to the POTS line in my house come up as "California Call", and calls to the east coast come up as "VOIP ACS". As usual, Tim and his crew have been great in helping me, and they assure me everything will eventually resolve once all the various CNAM servers out in the wild sync/propogate. This was a CV-initiated problem... whether intentional or not, they evidently erased the CNAM record for my phone number, rather than leaving it alone when they released the ported #. Tim and his guys say they've verified my CNAM record is correct, so it will just take time for the record to propogate out to the other carriers. Once I start seeing my name again, I'll re-post, so others have an idea of how long it takes to propogate.

FYI...
