configure port 500 on sbg900

To connect to my work network from my home network, my work laptop's VPN needs port 500 open on my home modem. Testing that port using whatsmyisp always times out...I've gone into the SBG900 config page, added the port, but still have had no luck. It seems to be enabled on the firewall.

Am I missing something here? I could use some basic instructions here, I guess.

TIA....
