1 edit | Yes. After removing and installing this thing 3 times I might just leave it as is. Taking my motherboard out and putting in back, wiring it all again is driving me crazy. Also wasting my thermal compound each try. 
Edit: Thought I take another try at remounting it, now feels like the threads on the screws are striped. Waiting on another mounting bracket to come in the mail.  |

| I am running this on a EVGA X58 board. The chip gets 1.385 Volts. I have 2 big 120mm case fans dircetly behind the V8, sucking out whatever heat the cooler lets go. Above sreeny was done at roomtemp, 21C or 70F
42-44 at idle is bad. Even the standard intel POS cooler should do better.
What voltage are you running the cpu? If i up mine to 1.45+ i am also running hot, same range. Do you have enough airflow leaving the case or are you trapping the warm air inside? |
