Interesting, I think wholly metered services will stay

Anything can go if the situation is bad enough. I already avoid cable/satellite TV; if I had it, it would be the first thing to go.

After that, I would cut expenses in this order: web hosting, going out, paid online games, security system, cell phone, DSL, car expenses, health insurance, dialup, home phone, gas line, mortgage payments, electricity, water. At some point you have to lose your house in foreclosure and move back with your mom

I think I'd keep DSL if I lost my job, but once the savings started running out it would be next. If I were at the point where I'd need dialup, I'd probably be sick of staying home unemployed and want to get out more.
