We should count our blessings that it actually works as it is and hope that the next hurricane does not knock it out for months again. When FiOS will be available, then it will light a fire under them to make some improvements in speeds. -- Obama '08. I use them much less to not get in trouble again, but as far as reliability has been good ever since TW fixed the lines years ago. Was down for 3 months, though, so I am not looking fw to the next hurricane season. -- Obama '08. question is when will the bay area actually see this upgrade begin The upgrade began a few years ago when they announced they'd be spending a butt load of money int he bay area to upgrade the last mile delivery system in the bay area..
I think the press release is a pretty good indication that the installations will begin soon.

Minneapolis has HORRIBLE competition.. Qwest anyone? They still advertise and sell 256Kbps speeds here with a good amount of people still on 1.5, which just happened about 4 years ago. 4 years ago, 640Kbps was their bread and butter top end speed! Now you have SOME ares that can get 5 and 7MB speeds..
.. yet, Comcast, the "Monopoly" launched DOCSIS 3.0 in the Twin Cities.
Bucket full of holes yet?

City size doesn't matter because the metro area is much smaller. Please get your facts straight.

BTW, if you want to drop Wikipedia data, then this page shows the greater Houston area as 6th, and Bay area as 12th. So, get *your* "facts" straight, dork.
