[Outlook] Why can't the passwords keep? In Outlook that is?

I just installed a legal copy of Outlook 2002 I had. No problems with anything; it installed and is working fine. The problem is when I shut it down it doesn't remember the passwords to the incoming email accounts, so I have to keep rekeying them. I even deleted an email account to try and see what would happen; same thing. Can anyone help me?

Thanks
Jim

Did you try reinstalling it yet?

Yes.. and I also tried updating Outlook itself.. I put the incoming password in, and click the check box to save it. When I CLOSE Outlook, the password disappears...

It's frustrating...

EDIT: I think it's a problem because I am using Outlook 2002 on Vista Home Premium. Any fixes out there?

I believe the passwords in XP are kept in your local password store. If you're running XP, check Control Panel - User Accounts - Advanced - Managed Passwords and see if the server you told it to remember the password for is in there. If not, try and add it manually.

On Vista, it's called the Credentials Manager in the Control Panel.
