I want to use this Efficient 5851 as a bridge and enable this on the router ,so its like a "dumb" modem. |

@nypl.org | reply to stevebg68 Do you want to enable bridging on the router, or do you want to use the equipment as a bridge (ie as if it was a modem)? |

| We took over a Efficient 5851 SDSL router from Paetec ISP for a customer and we want to put it in bridged mode which we did and then hook it to a Cisco ASA 5505 firewall then to their LAN but its not working for us?
They have it set this way before we tried the bridged mode:
IP Routing enabled
using RFC 1483 with a manual WAN IP and subnet mask
NAT enabled
LAN IP: 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
Any suggestions to try in the settings to get it to work in bridge mode?
Do we need a cross over cable maybe from the Efficient 5851 router to the Cisco ASA ?
thanks |
