Invalid mail server, fwmpop.ops.worldnet - What is This ????

I'm trying ATT - I'm really trying. However, my patience is wearing thin and for the first time in 10 years I've started looking at ISP alternatives. I converted one email account to the new yahoo crap. When signed in, it lists several other mail accounts like this:

fwmpop.ops.worldnet.att.net

What the hell is this ? When I go there it says:

There was a problem!
Invalid mail server specified.

I'm disgusted with ATT and their handling of this yahoo conversion. Whoever is managing this colossal cluster-screw should be fired.

Exactly where and how are you getting this symptom?
The webmail site at »att.yahoo.com/mail ?
An email client?

A few details would help with the diagnosis (screen shots of your setup and the error messages would be nice).

As far as I know fwmpop.ops.worldnet.att.net is not a valid email server for ATT/Yahoo email.
In fact, it does not even appear to be a valid host name:

C:\>nslookup fwmpop.ops.worldnet.att.net
Server: dcs-gw1.dcs-net.net
Address: 192.168.10.1

DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
*** Request to dcs-gw1.dcs-net.net timed-out

The correct pop3 server does respond to an nslookup:
C:\>nslookup pop.att.yahoo.com
Server: dcs-gw1.dcs-net.net
Address: 192.168.10.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: pop-sbc.mail.fy4.b.yahoo.com
Address: 68.142.198.12
Aliases: pop.att.yahoo.com, pop-sbc.mail.yahoo.com

Try using these:
POP3: pop.att.yahoo.com, SSL, port 995
SMTP: smtp.att.yahoo.com, SSL, port 465

Looks like he might be still trying to use the old mail server in a pop3 software client (outlook, etc...) after he converter the account to yahoo. The mail server is probably now the yahoo mail server.
