I think it was Version 2.4.18.184. That's what I'm using on my WinXP. No, it was 3.0.25.378. Both versions 2.4 and 3.0 are available at FileHippo »www.filehippo.com/download_comodo/ (3.0 uses D+ which I consider an essential component of Comodo's firewall.)
FWIW, I test drove Online Armor and I'm not willing to try it again. Blue screen crashes are not something I'm willing to go through again. I'll stay with Comodo 3.5 forever before doing that again... |

My intent wasn't to deflect this discussion towards a "better than" direction. As others have said, regarding the creeping bloat some tools have exhibited over the years, I too was very pleased with the old ZA. I used Comodo for some time too, before it began to .. swell.
It wasn't very long ago, having used Online Armor and Kerio before it, that I was curious enough to take another look at Comodo and Outpost. Both, no doubt, fine tools.
Outpost, like OA for you, doesn't like my computer .. and, Comodo wasn't anything like I'd remembered using earlier. Very, very "busy". I didn't spend much time trying to calm it either.
From earlier in this thread .. I'd thought to mention that, to me, OA is built solid, like a tank. It's functioning here is, has been, completely flawless. I consider it to be one of the finest (if not the finest) software firewalls currently available.
I run admin. And, I like being able to designate programs I choose to "run safer" mirror the limitations of running LU. -- Eagles may soar .. but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

I don't know for sure about MD5 checking, but suspect not because I don't see MD5 mentioned in any of the rules or configuration options. |
