| WoW with a controller?
Does anyone play WoW with a controller by any chance? I've been debating using my usb-ps2 hook-up from FFXI to play WoW but there's no mappings by default. I've been putting it off because making my own mapping is a pain. I'm just curious if anyone else uses a controller and how they map it out to play WoW. |

| reply to xcal78 Maybe not exactly what your looking for, but I know a few people that play Wow with these (or the various different versions of it):

| reply to xcal78 That N52 looks good for PVP since i use mostly macros as a rogue. I could set the macros on the pad and chain macros to use even more macros with less buttons. Or for farming that would be great to use one hand have macros to just kill. With the timers i could just press and watch my guy go through the macros killing monsters. |

1 edit | reply to xcal78 Yea that looks 10 times better then using a game console controller. The downside is where can I get one of those today? LOL

I went and looked at best Buys site and found this one. ($63 bucks for it) |

| reply to xcal78 I have one of the original N52 speedpads, I loved that thing. I eventually changed over to the Merc keyboard, basically a keyboard with a speedpad built into the left side.
I now use the N52 on my "guest" machine, whenever I host a lan party my friends fight over who gets to use that machine. -- Asus P5N72-T Premium, 4GB GeIL Esoteria PC2-6400 DDR2 RAM, Raidmax RX-750-DB, EVGA GTX280 SC, Core2 Quad Q9450 @ 400 x 8, Gigabyte 3D Mercury watercooled case. |

I'm not really open to giving that up now that I've gotten use to it. I think that N52 that lights up as well would fit perfect so I can play in low light conditions. |

| Well, if you have two gaming machines there's always this as an option. If you really do like your current keyboard though you can't go wrong with the illuminated N52, as I said I loved that thing. -- Asus P5N72-T Premium, 4GB GeIL Esoteria PC2-6400 DDR2 RAM, Raidmax RX-750-DB, EVGA GTX280 SC, Core2 Quad Q9450 @ 400 x 8, Gigabyte 3D Mercury watercooled case. |

| reply to xcal78 How's the learning curve on that n52?
I bought one years ago, tried it on another game, didn't get the results I wanted and chucked it in the old-and-broken-mouse drawer. It still works fine, I'm sure, but I've never tried it for WoW.
How long does it take to get used to the different key layout and get back to being as effective as with the regular keyboard? |

| reply to xcal78 Thanks for making it a tough choice. DOH! Now do I get an N52 or a new keyboard. Glad today is my bday so whichever I pick I can have the g/f give me as a gift. That's why I'm looking for a new toy. Don't know what else to ask for since I have most of the toys I want already. |

| reply to xcal78 I was a clicker (I know, I know) before getting my N52te; now I don't think I could play without it. In fact, I don't see how anyone manages with just a keyboard and mouse.
There is, however, a steep learning curve. I think it took me 2 weeks to fully get used to it, but again I was a clicker before that so your mileage may vary. Once you get used to it, it's awesome.
Highly recommended is a mod like Dominos or Bartender that allow you to customize your action bars. I arranged mine so they are laid out just like the keypad, with a second set for the second set of keybinds. Helped a lot when getting used to it or changing keybinds / specs- a quick look and you instinctively know which button it is. |

| I use a Saitek Cyborg Command Unit and I liked it better than the N52. The wheel and the thumb stick died on the n52, which sucked so I bought the Saitek. Haven't had any complaints and I've had it for over a year.
I am interested in that Logitech programmable mouse though. Even with all the darn buttons on the Cyborg, I still don't have all my buttons mapped.
When I was playing FFXI on the computer I used to use a PS 2 wireless controller. I got the adapter from radio shack. |

| Anyone have a good rec for a WoW friendly mouse. I have just been playing with your standard wireless mouse, but I would really like an extra button or two on there, mainly for vent, because keying vent while tanking a boss that requires any sort of movement (since I move with the keyboard) can get quite tricky. The logitech ones look pretty legit, but they also cost around $100. Any suggestions would be helpful |
