| Better Antennas
Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows of any better antenna that is better than the small maganetic one that comes with many of the radios (like the XM Xpress). I find I have many drop outs when I'm around trees on my daily drive and that's trees without any leaves on them yet. Hate to think what my reception will be like when the trees are full of leaves. |

What I understand is it the nature-of-the-beast you will always need an unobstructed view of the Sky ( Better yet, a Clear shot of the out side sky works best) I have drop-out under large-trees as well, I don't think you can buy a better outside antenna, both Sirius XM is the same thing now, and the equipment is all the same as well......(meaning it all works the same way) if you have a Sirius XM repeater in your local area, you won't get very many drop-outs, we have 2 of them and they are both on opposite areas of the city, but, I live in the foothills, so I can only rely on the Sky, now, when I drive into the city, I have not heard any problems or any real drop-outs while driving within the city-limits, That is where the repeaters are suppose to kick-in.....

| reply to greenacres I've noticed that my reception on my manufacturer-installed XM radio is much better than it was when I had one of those magnetic antennas in my old car. Areas where I used to have drop-off due to trees, land elevation, etc. don't seem to happen much now. -- Patriotism is not waving a flag, it is living the ideals |

| A definite improvement, and if they're still in business when you get your new truck, I highly recommend getting it pre-installed.
I've got a 2009 Vibe with the 320w Monsoon 7 speaker system, so there's a very nice sound from the XM. -- Patriotism is not waving a flag, it is living the ideals |

My earlier Vibe went off lease, so I had to get a new car because GM had stopped leasing them anymore when I was looking for a replacement. I had the upgraded sound system in my previous car, so I wasn't going to take a step backwards. The system now comes with XM built in, the CD player now plays MP3-CDs in addition to regular CDs, and it has an input to connect to my MP3 player - all improvements over the earlier system. -- Patriotism is not waving a flag, it is living the ideals |

4 edits | Hey , that is still way better than the FM-relay-switch, and I bet it sounds a lot better than what I'm using right now (I have the FM-relay-switch) at least you don't have to go looking for open-FM-Stations just to play your Sirius XM-Radio, and you have CD-quality-sound via your Tape-Deck |

| I ignore her for the most part, as for her singing, she is just like most people who sing. She is just like every other wantabe morning DJ, having trouble keeping the energy up. It is a very long shift. I listen for the music and I do change all the time. Just depends on my musical mood. |
