FioS?

Please explain how the 23 billion dollar investment in Fios with the mere 800,00 tv customers they have gained is helping them "weather" the economic crisis? I could have assumed it was the 100 million wirless customers they have, but I could be wrong.

I am not saying that the Fios investment was a bad idea, nor am I suggesting that it wont eventually pay off. But has verizon recouped 1% of the Fios investment they have made yet? The answer, is no.

They don't need to explain it, it was investment. Its all about creating a duopoly. You have to spend money to make it.

FIOS is not only TV Customers. It is also Phone/Internet and Internet-Only customers. Thus the number of Customers who have FIOS TV does not tell the whole story on the number of FIOS Customers.

Ummm, your statistics are completely wrong. The company had 1.9 million FiOS TV customers at year-end 2008.
Keep in mind those FiOS TV customers are also internet and voice customers.
They are now adding 250,000 - 300,000 FiOS customers every single quarter...and everyone I know wants this service.
