Nice poll. Thanks!

I voted for the only such app I've tried/used, TeamViewer .. which works well.

Now, I've even more choices to try.

LogMeIn Pro on Windows machines and LogMeIn free on Macs.

Easy to set up and use. Made life MUCH easier in trying to resolve my 89-year old mother's computer problems.

LogMeIn Hamachi installed as service on the machines, auto-logged to my own virtual network, with uVNC installed for remote access at the desktop level, and MS RDP for remote administration from my own admin login, all through the hamachi IP address.

I used to do this until logmein bought Hamachi. then i switched to logmeinfree. It just made life simpler. I had 335 machines on a Free account.

Now at a different company we use logmein rescue, but I sometimes switch to crossloop when the logmein licenses are all in use. I still use logmein free for Friends and Family.

1. EchoVNC > 2. EchoServer > 3. InstantVNC

1. for the admin/tech
2. you host this on your own server
3. for the client/customer to run when they need help

I have mainly used LogMeIn free and it has worked quite well for me. I have been giving TeamViewer a test drive and I am very impressed with it. It has some features not found in LogMeIn free such as file transfer and I can even reboot the remote computer into safe mode, which is great when troubleshooting and cleaning a remote computer.

This is a great poll and as someone else mentioned, this is a great list and I plan to check out some of the others including Crossloop, but I will be surprised if any are better than Teamviewer.

PS: I have also used Radmin locally on my home network for years and have been very happy with it.
