How hot is your house? LOL! I don't think any modem is meant to be kept outside or in the garage or attic.

humm, you can buy dos 3.0 modems? i wouldn't mind having those types of speeds!

then again the upload will probably be shot to hell.

Until Cox launches Docsis 3.0 a Docsis 3.0 modem will do sqauat for your speeds..
