[General] Daylight Saving Time starts tomorrow

Don't forget to move those clocks forward tonight and check the DST settings on your ATA (for all you BYOD users).

  Thanks for the information!

I hope my PAP2T setting is correct. My current Daylight saving rule looks like this - start=3/8/7;end=11/1/7;save=1

That looks correct.

All my PAP2v1 units have no problems to automatically adjust their clocks last night. My Uniden UIP1869V failed to make such an adjustment even though I have it configured so. The reason is simply Uniden hasn't released a new firmware since 2006 that complies with this DST.

Thanks for that! I changed every other clock in the house, but completely forgot about my PAP2T, which had an outdated DST rule. The one that Pandora posted got me back into the right time zone.

What exactly is the result of having the wrong time on the ATA?

Caller ID will display incorrect time on the phone that is corrected to the ATA.

Have not tested it so I will take you at your word.

I know not all phones have clocks, but why would the phones internal clock not override this?

And there might be some that do. However, that would be adding complexity, so I suppose the engineers follow Occam's razor.

My present ATA's (Linksys/Sipura/Cisco/Nauru PAP2T, and Grandstream Handytone 286), each used in conjunction with Uniden phones, work this way. The ATA governs CID times.

I definitely had to change the settings on both ATA's today in addition to changing the phone clocks, for the CID time to be correct.

My quirk is that I don't like the ATA's use of DST rules. Now, the ATA's do get time settings from NTC servers. So when DST comes, I just shift the time zone once to the east: (Central becomes Eastern, and so forth. In my case, Eastern becomes Atlantic). That's just the way I like to do it, and it works for me.

I have phones that update their clock to match the CID time every time a call comes in. I tried calling the home number from my cell phone, but the phones wouldn't update to DST. It turns out that the problem was my ATA sending out the wrong time, due to it having the outdated DST rule.

It appears that Net2Phone slept in this morning. DST was wrong at 1 PM EDT, but it's now correct.

My PAP2 (with CallCentric and VoiceStick) has the correct DST rule, so everything was fine this morning.

Re: [General] Daylight Saving Time starts tomorrow

All was good for the HT502 and PAP2T for VOIPo.
My UNIDEN 2-line Phone needed the hour bumped.

I use Voice Pulse with a managed PAP from Linksys. It's still showing the wrong time. Is this a VP issue?

Yes, this is common with VP at every time change. If you have the time zone correct in the portal and the CID time still comes through wrong you have to wait for VP to correct it.

I use the Alarm setting feature on my VOIP Phone Adapter to wake-me up everyday but I noticed that after the 'daylight saving time', its behind an hour.

Using the *user* login, I can only view and confirm that the current time setting on the VOIP phone adapater is behind an hour..maybe I need an admin password to change/update it ??..

Other than opening a ticket with my VOIP provider to fix this remotely, anything else that I can try?
