| Words i like to hear There are words i would like Comcast to say when i call them:
1. Yes we fully support cable card. When can we schedule an appointment, or would be interested in self-install over the internet.
2. Yes you can exchange your cable-modem, if its not working. There should be a 2 year rule for this.
3. We schedule in 2 hr timeframes. Which is best for you.
4. Its more important to us to serve you, then blast you with the same ads over and over. When you call us... -- Communism doesn't work because people like to own stuff - Frank Zappa

1) No disagreement here.
2) As far as I know, if you rent the modem from them you can swap it out at any time for any reason assuming that office has cable modems in stock. Like anything else, if you own it, you're responsible for it.
3) Does this vary by market? Unfortunately, recently I have had to have several tech visits, each time I was given a 3 hour window and each tech was always on time.
4) Haven't experienced that myself, but it would be annoying - but then again my local vet does the same thing with the allergy shots for pets.

 | reply to DaveDude You can exchange your cable modem for any reason at your local office. I had one Customer that did not like the way it looked and swapped it for a new one. Self install on cable cards is available within some areas, most notable is the Bay area in California. It has been successful there and hopefully will continue to expand to other areas. We are working on something called dynamic dispatch which does allow shorter windows for tech visits. In fact many areas it is 2-3 hours now. I will be happy to share the feedback regarding the ads |
