I think what would help in the short and long term is to simplify their currently more complicated pricing structure. Like the next customer, I will always take and appreciate the same for less cost, but what I am really referring to is how the pricing is structured. If I subscribe to a CATV tier, I probably want the same level of service on all televisions.
What most other providers seem to do is charge for the programming tier level (i.e. $65), and then you pay a lease fee for the equipment for each television (i.e. $5-$20) beyond the first. No additional fee adjustments, outlet charges or other complications.
Along that train of thought, use the same pricing structure and policies for all markets even if the actual price varies slightly by market. The Internet may have not brought us all together, but we do talk to each other a lot more.
I actually pulled out the rate card for my area while writing this, for "Cable Modem Lease Fee" there is annotation, "Fee per computer". Sigh. [R1-PBMC-0708] |
