Comcast is fine! All my services deliver at, and above, the claimed and expected levels.
Sorry if I don't jump on the Bash Comcast wagon... my services runs fine!
If, as some of you say, Comcast sucks, call in! I'm sure they will drop you if you ask. Regardless if there is another "viable" provider, it doesn't make any sense to keep paying for crap service if that is what you are getting.
*I* certainly wouldn't keep paying for crap. I would rather do without instead of paying for poor service just for a reason to complain.
But that's just me, YMMV. -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

WTF? How is this stopping DSL? How is this stopping Dish? Here, it's AT&T that's stopping(scaring?) Verizon from deploying anything. Has nothing to do with Comcast. -- Think outside the Fox... 1. It is Comcast's fault for having a poor customer service attitude knowing that there is no choice for customers that need broadband in some areas. They know there is no alternative, so they do not care. Simple to understand, no ?
2. For manipulating the rules to prevent other cable companies to do an over build. -- Obama '08. Will help resolve the terrible broadband issues we have that put us so far behind other countries. |

dadkinsCan you do Blu?Premium,MVM join:2003-09-26 Hercules, CA kudos:18 1 edit | And yet another time, Comcast has nothing to do with AT&T or any other telco not servicing your area.
As soon as you realize this, *maybe* we can all rest a bit from your tirade.
Answer this, please: If Comcast is so bad, why do you still pay them? Don't give me the no competition BS, that is *NOT* Comcast's fault.
Tell me why you don't get DSL. -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

1 edit | DSL is not available in my area. Neither is FiOS. The competing cable co cannot do an overbuild due to franchise regulations (yes, it is apparently an anomaly ins ome regions of Texas).
So I pay Comcast because there is no alternative for high speed Internet access. No, satelite and 3G are not good enough.
Clear ? -- Obama '08. Will help resolve the terrible broadband issues we have that put us so far behind other countries. |

Comcast seen fit to either buy out an existing cableco and continue service or rolled out their own lines and you have something.
Go bitch about AT&T/Bell South/whomever somewhere, it's them you should be annoyed at. They don't see your area as worthwhile apparently. -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

 | reply to fifty nine Really? FIOS goes where they think they will make more money. Where I live, we have Comcast and WOW for cable, U-Verse, DirectTV, Dish and plain old DSL. It's like this all over Michigan. |

| reply to dadkins Comcast has the only cable business in my city. There is NO Verizon becaue it is AT&T country. There is no AT&T because the infrastructure is 30+ years old. Hell I have a 11k Ft run from a RT to the maxxe dout CO and another 1K ft run between the RT and the F1 box in my neighborhood for AT&T DSL so its a smidge better than Covad at 12.4K. No Uverse and no upgrades in sight for this area in the near future. WHY- NO COMPETITION for the incumbents and a monopoly on cable service. Will we ever see the 16/2 that Comcast is delivering in areas of the US where they have competition- possibly but I'm not counting on it. Until the various companies that rule the Internet business spend some capital on upgrading the infrastructure we'll not be in any danger of exceeding any CAPS that are being thrown around. Hopefully they will bring the 21st century Internet to my neck of the woods before I no longer have a need for Internet or HD-TV on demand. |

The area is sparsely populated. It is CC's fault that the franchise they have prevents Entouch to do an overbuild, Entouch being 2 miles away. If you use the DSL argument, it is not CC's fault that the University of Oregon that is 4000 miles away does not provide service for free here, either. It is a strawman argument. It does not resolve the issue that the only other provider that would offer service here, cannot due to the franchise. Oh, sure, it must be the city's fault. But you rail against cable monopoly yet you don't rail against ATT's telephone monopoly. You would think ATT would invest in your heavily populated area and reap many DSL customers and get the bulk of the available revenue. By not competing, ATT is allowing Comcast to pocket all those customers. I do not think that is necessarily Comcast's fault. |
