[VoIPo] Support chat busy today?

I had logged on to the support chat to have them check my line and the wait is much higher than the usual fast response. I am on a conference call so I can't call in right now.

9 minutes waiting so far....

After 10+ minutes I got-

I will, I just wanted to get someone to take a peek at the line as I was getting quite a bit of echo when calling the house today.

Due to the Grandstream recall and the volume of replacements being processed, things are a little hectic support wise today with all the related questions coming in.

It should level out over the next few days when all the replacements are out and fully up and running.

Same thing again today, was on a conference call at the house and had some DTMF tones coming across. This just cropped up recently.

Sorry about that. It's very hectic. Once we're through the recall and replacement process, it'll get back to normal.

Expect some delay though until all those are processed and the new adapters are online (lots of initial setup questions).

Tickets are the best bet (over live chat/phone) for the next week or so.

Support is going to be slow right now as well.

An outgoing employee pulled the fire alarm (intentionally) in our building and all 4 floors had to be evacuated to verify that no emergency was occurring.

This caused ear piercing sirens in the whole building (has been this way for at least 15 minutes). We're working to get it shut off now, but need the fire dept assistance for that.

Until it stops, the bulk of our support team will be outside (it's that loud).

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please use tickets if possible instead of Live Chat or trying to call.

Sounds like here. The offices are in an old paper mill that was converted over. I swear they test the fire alarm every 2 days which is great when you are speaking to a client.

Yeah, I guess that's just Murphy's Law

Our building was mostly remodeled when we bought it, so everything is basically new but in today's case it was an employee in the building intentionally pulling the alarm, so it was more of a "real life test".

Tim, I hope your alarm system is not connected to the fire department over VOIP...it won't work.

Actually here in Houston, it has to be a landline for code compliance.

When the smoke clears, metaphorically speaking, can you get them to look at my ticket, VNF-686473? Thanks

Sure.

Basically we don't officially support fax or data/modems since it never will be consistently reliable with VoIP.

So they'll try to help you optimize the ATA for it, but since it's not officially support it looks like it was assigned a little lower priority than normal, but you should get a reply today.
