Found this on Buy and Sell.

Thought that was a really good price, and when I sent an email, I got this back.
It is still for sale..NO accidents
The trailer is in good working condition, clear title, no loans on it. There are no further investments required. I am not in Canada anymore and that's the reason that I'm selling it. In fact I need money urgent to pay the loan for my house from UK. It is located at the shipping company and it's ready for shipping. The shipping is free if you are located in Canada. For any further information or don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.
Then this:
Here are more pics »picasaweb.google.com/joanna.sane···fj6nxOQ#
I got nobody in Canada right now and the warehouse where the trailer is standing is private .
To complete our transaction I propose eBay Motors Vehicle Protection Program: »pages.motors.ebay.com/buy/purcha···tection/ How it works: 1. You'll send to eBay Motors VPP the money . 2. They will secure your money and contact me to start the shipping. 3. I will start the shipping and I will email you the tracking number in the same day. 4. You will receive the trailer and you'll have 15 days to inspect it before take any decision. 5. If you like it you must contact eBay to send me the money. Or if you are not satisfied, just ask eBay for full refund. And the shipping company will pick up the trailer from you. Important: You need to know that you can ask for full refund anytime for any reason. Also if you don't want it after inspection, no need to pay the ship back fees. Let me know if is ok..so we can move on,
Thanks

It might prevent someone with less horse sense than yourself the grief of getting ripped off. |

Hello, Sorry for the delayed response, but I'm in Luton,UK right now and I have been very busy. Anyway, thank you for your interest in buying the car.Why is the price so low? I am going trough a divorce, and I had to move in UK. So all that I want to do now is sell the car at this price, because I need to sell it fast (I already made a deposit here to buy me another). The title is clean and you will have absolutely no problems to register the car. I will tell you a few words about my car... Mileage: 32,500 VIN: 1N4AL21E47C151150 Transmission: Automatic It is in immaculate condition ,rust free ,no scratch and hasn't been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well. The interior looks great(NO SMOKING).This car needs nothing.I want this transaction to go smoothly enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have little time at my disposal. I already have tones of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out. The price is 3,600 USD .THIS IS MY LAST PRICE. I will not negotiate the price. Also, I take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying the car ,to be sure that I don't waist my time with endless discussions. This way,I shall be assured of the serious intentions. So if you are interested please email me. P.S. You can see more pictures here: »s828.photobucket.com/albums/zz20···g_greg1/

Hello ,As I told you in my first e-mail, I am in England. Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with eBay Motors so my presence isn't necessary. The car is at the shipping company, ready to be delivered. The shipping cost is included in the total price of the car!You have 5 days to test it and inspect the car. So if you want to make this deal I need the following details from you:full name and addressshipping addressphone #After I will have all this details I will forward them to eBay Motors and I will proceed the order. eBay Motors will contact you with all thedetails that you need to complete this deal and also to see that i am covered by them and that I am legit seller. Waiting your email withthe requested details.Regards!! Greg Dagg |

They see the ads elsewhere and they never buy from a eBay Motors link so VPP doesn't apply and the scammers do this since people don't pay full enough attention that VPP only works when you buy through eBay. | While it is a sad story to read of anyone losing 20K they bought the item through an ad on »www.rvtraderonline.com/ using email contact only instead of through a ad/auction page on »motors.ebay.com which is listed as the only way to be enrolled in the VPP ["You are automatically enrolled in the program at no charge when you complete the purchase of an eligible vehicle on the eBay Motors site (motors.ebay.com). "] so by not paying attention to simple details and simply asking where is the link I will use at "motors.ebay.com" to purchase the vehicle they are now out of their retirement savings. A working link to a ad/auction at "motors.ebay.com" is exactly what the scammers cannot produce and this would stop their scam dead in the water at that point.

| reply to Hwnsista I think I may be involved in this scam as well but I am in the process of making the decision to buy it or not. Can you please take a look at these emails and the information to help me out.
Ok, the first thing that made me think this deal is too good to be true is:
-Listed on Craigslist -2004 Nissan 350z for $4300 with only 37,000 miles on it. (wow?) -I sent an email to the person asking the standard questions about if it had been sold yet, any accidents, VIN#, etc? -The person replies in an email... 2 MINUTES LATER! Here is that email:
Hello there, I'm writing you regarding my 2004 Nissan 350 Z. The car it's in perfect condition. Paint and everything else is flawless. The car has a clear title and it has only 37,200 miles on it. The price is not negotiable, if you are interested in buying it, the price is $4,300. I sell the car at this price because I cannot enjoy it due to my job (I work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship) and I'm a single woman and I have nobody close who can use it. All documents, including owner's manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the car. Also about payment and shipping I will use only eBay Purchase Protection so we can both be protected. I am looking forward to hear from you.
Thank you!
Ok, first of all, all these scams seem to have the same message that they are "out of town" and they can have the car shipped via a friend or someone. Second, I also asked other questions like "does the ac work?" "how many owners", etc. and none of these questions were answered directly. The email seemed to be a copy/pasted drawn up letter.
So I replied to the email again - asking for the VIN # so I could research the car history. This was the reply:
Hello,
Sorry for my late reply. I have to tell you that I'm currently at work.. As I already told you, I work as a dealer on a cruise ship and for this reason I chose to sell my car over the internet. The car it's in Chagrin Falls, Ohio at the shipping company, it's already packed and waiting to be shipped anywhere.. I have a friend there at DAS who will manage me a low price shipping and I assumed that it's from me to pay for shipping it. You will receive all the documents of the car (owner's manuals, keys, clear title, bill of sale) in order to register it under your name. If you are interested to purchase the car, I have done some researching and the best way to close the deal is through eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program. The transaction fits the Vehicle Protection plan and will be covered by eBay. Vehicle Purchase Protection reimburses buyers who are involved in a vehicle transaction through their program. The program provides reimbursement for all the situations that can appear in a transaction. The money will be sent to an eBay agent. After the payment is confirmed and secured by eBay I will start the shipping. The car will be in front at your door in max 3 days. From the moment you receive the car you have a 5 days inspection period. After the 5 days you have to decide if you want to keep the car or not. If you'll keep it, the payment will be released to me. In case you will not like the car and decide not to keep it, you will have to ship it back and you will be fully refunded. If you agree I will need your full name and complete shipping address, your phone#.
Thank you! P.S. The VIN # is .....(deleted it for privacy issues in this forum, not sure if i need to, but just in case)
I did a vehicle history report of the car and it is in fact the correct car, correct mileage as stated, and has a clean history. However, why did I find this car listed on Phoenix, Arizona search of used cars when the car is in Ohio and she works on a cruise ship?
There has been more emails back and forth, but basically a lot of red flags are going up in my head about this being a legit deal.
-Email response in only 2 minutes in what sounds like a copy/pasted response to any emails sent to that email. -Car is way underpriced for the type of car and mileage -Talked with ebay representative online and she confirmed that they DO NOT hold onto money between buyer and seller as the buyer approves or disapproves of the car that is purchased.
FINAL NOTE: As I finally finished this long post, I went back to the listing on craigslist and noticed that the car listing has been flagged for removal. I figured I would still post this so that if anyone gets contacted by this person they will avoid it. The name of person was Sabrina Bullock. |

-Talked with ebay representative online and she confirmed that they DO NOT hold onto money between buyer and seller as the buyer approves or disapproves of the car that is purchased. All that you have to do to know it is a Scam is to read what the eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program actually is and how it really works. Don't automatically trust what is in the email as being true or accurate, read the eBay Web Site! Buyer Beware! Educate Yourself or lose money...
If there is not an auction page listing on »motors.ebay.com which has the exact vehicle listed by VIN then you are being scammed as that is the only way to be enrolled in the VPP ["You are automatically enrolled in the program at no charge when you complete the purchase of an eligible vehicle on the eBay Motors site (motors.ebay.com). "] Otherwise, 100% Scam! No Doubt about it!
Is the car listed in an Auction or Buy It Now sale page at »motors.ebay.com ?
• If Yes, then buy it ONLY through the eBay Web Site after reading all terms at the eBay Web Site.
• If No, it is 100% a SCAM! No, Craigslist purchases or via email purchases are not covered by eBay Motors VPP. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

| reply to Hwnsista OK. Thanks to the helpful (and spot on) posts on this forum, I have stopped pursuing the unbelievably (of course) priced camper I was looking at. The emails were exactly as described in this thread. However, I went as far as giving my name and address, just to see what happened. I figured, it's available in any phone book, what could be the harm?
So I ask you guys, what is the harm of submitting that info? I know I ~fell prey to those scam artists (thankfully, never gave out any money info), but how will my address help them? Hopefully they just sell it to Capital One or something, but I would hate to get into a whole identity theft thing... |

During the "deal" they will send you a fake Ebay invoice with your name and address on it. Instructing you that Ebay has approved the sale and guarantees the escrow set up, all false of course.
Their focus is on scamming people out of cash via Western Union and Money Gram, and they make out really good doing it. They have little or no interest in just your name and address. By itself without other identity info, it is of little use.
As you can probably tell by the wording and phrasing of the written communications, English is not these criminals native language. The vast majority of this genre of fake auto adds are ran by Romanian cyber criminals.
The Fake half price auto & equipment adds where the seller is overseas, are to Romanian criminals what 419 lottery prize, & inheritance scams are to Nigerians.
