I have a Thermalright 120 ultra extreme

»www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/···aWFzdA==

it's massive and it keeps my q6600 CPU at full load in the 40's

I have my q6600 running at 3.4 (yes I can get it higher up to 3.7 stable) but no sense in pushing it that hard.

CPU runs 24/7 and is under full load on all cores doing computational analysis all the time. The most it rests is about 1 second every couple days.

I'm very happy with the cooler in fact; I've put in 4 of these monsters on system's I've built for many folks.

you might be able to still get one from Crazypc.com

I'd say pretty much worst-case scenario, you'll be able to get it to 3.2 Ghz.

Q6600 3.0 ghz and 3.2 ghz is pretty much right off the bat. Anything higher you need a better heatsink fan are go watercooling.

I've had my two Q6600s running at 3.51GHz reliably for over a year. I run the Zalman 9700 cooler, arctic silver, and a little arctic silver in between the gaps in the heat pipes and the copper block on the cooler. I also lapped my heat sinks and CPUs. Runs in the 30s, idle, can hit 69C on an all-day torture test of Prime95.
Mainboard is GAP35DQ6.
