RickPremium,MVM join:2001-02-06 Waterbury, CT | Speaking of Grief How much have I had to endure on this website for predicting for the last two years EXACTLY what is now coming to fruition?
Comcast. The third largest PHONE COMPANY.
This company is absolutely kicking a$$ and taking names to have accomplished that. And, what's to say that it's going to stop here? There's always second..and then first place as well. I repeatedly warned of the very precarious position that the telco's were quickly finding themselves in and except for Verizon and their dedication to a fios rollout, were completely ignoring what was quickly becoming a major disaster in the making. And this doesn't mean that Verizon gets to succeed either. It's going to be TOUGH to do in reverse and capture a significant slice of the cable tv business. Especially with their very long...very expensive rollout.
What happens now with Docsis 3.0 and Comcasts nationwide rollout of that. Does this become the final nail in the coffin of companies like AT&T?
Time will tell.
But one thing is sure. Anyone who says that Giant can't be toppled had better think again.

A lot of the Docsis 3 rollouts are fueled by competition, and that competition is FTTH. -- "So, Lone Starr, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb."

| | Rick, AT&T just said on Yahoo Biz that Broadband and Wireless are their priorities. Hiring there and laying off elsewhere the article said.
AT&T is accepting the fact that residential phone lines are dying. Uverse uses VOIP right?

Comcast better start looking for Davids carrying slingshots. While they try to win the data and phone race to the bottom their bread and butter video business is starting to evaporate.

in all honestly, i miss all of the comcast talk from not too long ago. every night i could get my laughs and my punches in without ever leaving my warm, toasty seat.
