| i hate wave broadband
i just unknowingly moved from a comcast area (Bremerton, washington) to a wave controled area (poulsbo, washington) and was told by comcast that i cant have their service because wave has a contract for cable rights with the city of poulsbo. now i wouldnt have a problem with this but the fact is that i went from 50megs per sec no cap with comcast for 114.99 to 18 megs per sec with a 300gb cap for 89.99 with wave, not to mention that wave also throttles the crap out of me and keep in mind my 2 roomates and i use the internet for everything, xbox live, streaming television, streaming netflix, and an unpresident amount of bittorrent. is there anything i can do to get comcast available in my area or am i stuck with crappy wave broadband

@hctc.com | If it makes you feel any better, caps are probably coming to Comcast too. Until a couple months ago, Wave had unlimited 15 meg service for $55/month for power users. You could look into AT&T UVerse.
Good luck. | |

| Welcome to the fraud that bandwidth is sooo precious and prohibitively expensive that we all have to do our part to conserve and stay within arbitrary boundaries set by corporations (*subject to change at any time, for any reason). Electrons are becoming really scarce and it's only now after all these years of reckless usage that we need to halt the damage being done to the planet by our excessive use. Just form a mental image of an electric meter, except call it a bandwidth meter, spinning faster every time you click a file or link then you'll love being a Wave Broadband customer. Being unsure of the monthly bill is fun for the whole family! | |

@hctc.com | Re: i hate wave broadband So has anyone with Wave even received a bill yet with overage charges? I would think they can not charge us for overage until they implement some kind of system where we can check our current usage.

| Re: i hate wave broadband They have a usage monitor in the San Francisco area. I have not tested it.
It's at the bottom of "Bandwidth Limitations and Other Important Terms of Use"
"It is your responsibility to monitor and manage your bandwidth usage, which you may check using the online usage monitor available after logging into your account at »https://secure-2.astound.net/iam".
Attached is a speed test done a couple of nights ago during peak hours. I do not do any heavy downloading or use P2P software.
