Velcom just finished migrating to internap...

... And I have to say that I'm happy with the results. Canadian pings are MUCH better since they aren't going to Chicago and then returning (when it was with gblx), which means gaming is going to rock ;)

And even the web feels faster more responsive. So I say kudos to Velcom for the migration!

And Velcom told me they might add another peer... I wonder which one it's going to be...

Heya

Glad you are happy with it!!

We are still working on improving Velcom network.

Hopefully soon new providers will be added!

Thanks,
Damir

Not one of those routes is going via InterNAP. All of that traffic is going via Neutral Data and then out via TorIX mostly or Level3 from the last route.

Brad,

Internap consits of 4 peers. We are situated with Neutral Data, this is why you see ND. Neutral data is a colo/bandwidth entity in 151 Front Street.

You wont see any paths that say "internap".

The addition of Neutral Data and thus Level3 as a transit provider and fairly aggressive peering at TorIX via Neutral Data is an awesome improvement for Velcom. Although I think it would be better for Velcom to have their own peering link with TorIX.

I know who InterNAP has for transit providers and yes you will see hops within the path that say InterNAP (pnap.net) if going across their network. Also InterNAP actually has 5 transit providers now in Toronto (Telus, Global Crossing, Verizon Business, TATA Comm. and Cogent).

I think what Brad is saying is that you are using Neutral Data's bandwidth which includes Internap - you are not directly connected to Internap, rather purchasing transit from ND.

Sort of. I had not bothered to see if ND was connected to InterNAP and I now see they are, as well as DTAG, Level3 and Tiscali.
