Re: [Preview] NAizer for CYT

Someone on BBR keeps posting that you'll unlock RT31P2 devices and PAP2 devices for good (even after factory reset)...which from what I understand is impossible without replacing a ROM chip. If you can confirm they're full of it, that would be appreciated.
Impossible? I am one of many living proofs on DogFace05 NAizer. The NAizer is a real thing and it can be done through an Internet connection without some dirty jobs to open the PAP2v1 case, soldering, and hardware EPROM eraser/programmer. If you have a locked PAP2v1 unit, try DogFace05 fee NAizer service and see how reliable it is.

I have yet to see anything that is impossible for DogFace05 to handle when it comes to hacking a PAP2v1.

I've read quite a few of your posts and they seem to be factually incorrect, if not an annoyance to people actually trying to unlock devices like the RT31P2. I don't know what chipset the PAPv1 uses, but from what I understand it doesn't use Linux. I'm fine with believing DogFace05 could unlock quite a few devices, but it doesn't appear he is offering a service to do so, or software that would be compliant with the RT31P2 or PAP2v1

Besides the CYT models in the list quoted, I may also support a few other Linux/MIPS based devices, including the WRTP54G-ST (a version of the WRTP54G made for Sprint), WRT54G-TM and WRTU54G-TM.The PAP2T is not a CYT device, does not run Linux, and is not based on a MIPS processor. It will not be supported by this project. I'm not familiar with the architecture of the Innomedias and Grandstreams, but to the best of my knowledge, they are not Linux/MIPS devices either, so no support there.

2. How does this program differ from, complement, or compete with the OP's private unlocking services?
I don't and never have offered unlocking of CYT devices. People have often asked for it, but I've always turned away all such requests. I do not offer solutions not 100% developed by me. NAizer™ for CYT will be my first entry into the CYT arena, and for the time being is planned as a standalone program--not a service.

I freely admit my lack of knowledge in this area, and therefore, I would appreciate if someone could explain what the disagreement is here.

(My expertise with CYT is not with devices but rather with proteins called Cytokines. When the flu hits you will be hearing a lot about them).

In any event, can someone please explain to us civilians just what the issue is here.

Thank you.

Sure. The issue here is that someone has figured out (after expending a lot of work) how to get into certain ATA's from the WAN port and has proven that the ATA can be turned into a true NA model. This of course would not be good if it was released into the wild. Now this someone does offer this service for a small fee for the time it takes, but it is against the rules on BBR to solicit such services. So it is only a rumor that many members here sound very satisfied about.

Or maybe I'm wrong or in the wrong thread????

Can you kindly point out which of my post(s) are factually incorrect w.r.t DogFace05 service on NAizing a PAP2v1?

Offering a private service on this forum is considered as SPAM. As such, I don't believe you will see any post from DogFace05 to offer his NAizer service here, except posts from satisfied readers here that had used his services.

Admitting a private service exists seems quite a bit different than offering it. Sveasoft used BBR forums to publicize their "services"/firmware and haven't come under much fire.

In regards to being factually incorrect I'm referring to posts about 30second resets and being able to tftp firmware in "safe-mode" on the RT31P2 (»Re: [Equipment] RT31P2-AL upgrade)... I believe BigDog05 addressed this as being a myth in one of this posts (»www.justbroadband.org/forum/r19403688-)

I'm not trying to rip on you, I just started tinkering with a RT31P2 I got today and was frustrated by all the dated / mis-information on unlocking the device that seems to be circulating.

Thankfully there is some good info: »Re: Amazing!! Unbelievable !! Fantastic!! - Remote Unlock RT31p2

It is absolutely true. And no, it does not require replacing any ROM chip or resorting to any hardware mods at all. I've been unlocking PAP2v1s for nearly 4 years, and NAizing them (ie, permanently unlocking and erasing the provider customized default settings) since late March of '06, and RT31P2s for just over 3 years. The only ones full of it, are those who in all ignorance, keep insisting on spreading disinformation about it supposedly being impossible.

Perhaps you've never heard of it, since it's not a service I have ever advertised, nor have ever asked of anyone to advertise on my behalf, and try not to discuss in public, as I feel it would conflict with the forum's posting policies. And apparently so do also a select few who seem to have made it their mission in life to monitor, and loudly voice their discontent any time there is any mention of my work. I only make this service available to the extent that people come to me and ask for it.
How is your development of the CYT utility progressing if at all? It's been quite a few months since your last post.
As I've stated very clearly in past posts, the NAizer™ for CYT is not some small hacking effort. It's a rather large project that has already cost me over one full-time man year in development effort, and still don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. And, again, as stated previously, I cannot and am not willing to speculate on an ETA.

It is work that I do without the benefit of any funding whatsoever. No, there are no VCs knocking on my door. I'm an independent developer, meaning that I'm not employed by anyone. My livelihood depends entirely on what little income I can derive from the projects I create, most of which end up resulting in no income at all. It also requires prioritizing my time where needed most, so unfortunately, I cannot dedicate it all to just this one project.
