Starting at? $30 for local telephone - and it's required for internet?

100 minutes? Only 3mbps?
† requires Windstream local phone service

We apparently regard prices differently, or you fellas didn't read what's required

it says Local phone service. does not say what package you need.

Which means you could get a metered phone service. Which their site is interesting. they claim to service an area in Ohio that is serviced by Fairpoint.

You can get their Winstream DSL with any phone package. Basic plan starts at $5.

The Bundle is $59.99 for local and 3mbps internet.
Phone alone is $34.99 for their local and 100 LD minutes.
Nationwide phone is $49.99.

i never said anything about "bundling" i said order each seperate.

It allowed me to place an order for $5 per month phone service and the 12megs internet. It didn't say anything about having to bundle anything. You keep looking at the bundles. Not everyone bundles.

I just called Windstream they said you do NOT have to have any bundled plan. The simple basic phone line would be fine. It ranges from $5-12.10 depending on the region. Ohio its $12.10 for the basic line- no features or long distance plans. and then the price of the Internet. Then the taxes.

Before taxes and fees for the 12meg in Ohio is only $43 (change rounded up.)

Going by what is seen on the website itself:

They only show two phone services.
Granted, they may have more services to offer.
Also, again going by the webpage, $34.99 is the local phone service.
When bundled with the 3mbps internet, the price drops to about $30 for phone and $29.99 for internet to end at $59.99.

Even if it is as you say, not that impressive as your first post above states. Sorry!

One other thing... this is DSL, right?
What speeds can people honestly expect?
As with any DSL service, ya might not be within range for the higher speeds...

of course they want you to spend more money than what you want. that's every business. LoL. I always place an "order" to find out what is required total. I did with them and found out basic phone service was fine. Got curious even more when you posted the bundles so i called. I not only got someone right away, but he also knew what he was talking about and was more than willing to give me the information i wanted.

CA, where I am, cannot look for service.
All I can go by is what's on their website.

You going to sign up?

i don't live in their service area. I live in AT$T's. But I'm happy with my cable service.

All i did was just click a state and city to get the info on placing an order. They don't require anything else until you go to fully run the order.

you're right, you cannot look for services. Zip code specific areas have different prices. Why would you even comment when it would NEVER affect you?

they do not based prices on zipcode. I could easily pick out the cities in my state that they service and get pricing. I can even call them--which i did.

And how do you know I won't be moving to one of their areas? Never affect me? you don't know that.
