MLPPP Single Link through XP with Velcom

Hello.
New customer with Velcom. Just realized Bell's throttling affects me still. So started reading, and came to the conclusion that I need to set up single link MLPPP to get around the throttling issue.

I have a Speedstream 4200 flashed with Siemens firmware, and set to bridge mode. I am trying the Windows XP native method outlined here by user HiVolt, where I am just creating a new PPPoE connection with velcom, and enabling "multi-link or single link connections":

»Any ideas how to Do MLPP ? with xp?

I wanted to try this method before getting my hands dirty with buying a Tomato firmware compatible modem and setting it up, just to check that it would work.

When I go into Bridge Mode, I cannot connect to Velcom through the PPPoE connection...It just asks me to redial forever. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Just to follow up, I was using a specific method to get my modem to go into bridge mode, outlined here:

Siemens SpeedStream 4200 Bridge mode
»www.phoenixthesmeg.byethost16.co···200.html

Using this method (in summary, where I created a new virtual connection in my modem's settings, and set that as a pppoe connection, bridge only), I was never able to connect to Velcom through a normal PPPoE connection through Win XP.

There is though, an option in my modem's settings that says Bridge Mode, but when I did that, I would no longer be able to connect to my modem's setup pages. Apparently, that is supposed to happen. So, my modem is currently in Full Bridge Mode.

I've tried the MLPPP with XP method I linked to above, and still my torrents are throttled at 30kB/s down at peak hours. Just to note, I am using a well seeded torrent, downloading Open Office. I get around 150kB/s down at any other time.

Do I need to have something changed to my account so I CAN enable MLPPP single link on my connection with Velcom? When I check the status of my connection (through Win XP), it says that multi link framing is Off...

Any help / advise appreciated.
