The CSR wouldn't believe me at first that it seemed that they were having some sort of peering-route poisoning-infrastructure problem since HE could connect to my circuits from inside the speakeasy network.
Figures.
I had to produce several traceroutes from boxes around the world I have accounts on before he would take me seriously. Put me on hold for a minute then came back with "uhh yeah, you seem to be correct..." I've run into this in the past too. Level 1 support doesn't appear to be equipped to look at network connectivity issues. I would probably have asked the CSR to forward the ticket directly to the NOC, which is what I do when a flaky peer or circuit is dropping lots of my packets.
Anyway, Boston got reconnected after about 2-1/2 hours, as the stream of inbound spam resumed at 23:02. |
