Dsl disconnection

I hope that one or some of you could help me with this.

Basically, the problem starts when i turn on my desktop computer.

We have a wifi connection in our home since we have 2 laptops and 1 desktop computer. The problem is that the DSL connection only works if and only if the desktop computer is unplugged. The connection goes haywire once we open the desktop computer. At first, we thought it was only a coincidence but the same thing happens every time we turn the pc on. What could be the problem? i've tried searching for some answers over the net but i couldn't find any. BTW, when we turn the pc off, the connection returns to normal. Do we need to dispose of the pc or just change some hardware? i've had some theory but i don't really know how a dsl line works. my theory has something to do with the pc modem but i'm not sure whether a DSL connection makes use of a 56k modem. Some ideas would be much appreciated.

The WiFi card in the Desktop computer could be bad or not configured properly.
