Verizon understood this lesson when it started to deploy FIOS and we see how Qwest is teetering on the edge of collapse because they held off on deploying fiber until very recently.
Since Fairpoint bought an existing fiber network in southern NH, setting up IPTV should not be that difficult since most of the grunt work is completed. Hopefully Fairpoint will be able to exploit this and make some money out of it. -- Blagojevich / Madoff 2012! |

1 edit | I agree. If they only offer old, crusty services, they're destined to go under. Most of the fiber has already been run in a large percentage of the Southern/Seacoast (NH). Verizon just stopped what they were doing when they figured they'd find a sucker to take over *enter Fairpoint*. There should be enough of a footprint for them to make a nice dent in Comcast-only regions here in NH.
I personally would welcome another option. |

| Failpoint. Until they get their software straightened out with that "programming" company, the good 'ol boys IPTV is pretty much useless to them Northerners. At least it applies to their phone system subscribers...

Uhm...DirecTV, DISH...Comcast isn't the only option. Been using DirecTV for years now even after Comcast told me it wouldn't work. |

 | I too have DTV...but wouldn't necessarily mind dealing with one particular company for a bundle if the products and price match what I want to pay and use. If Verizon were still here and offering FIOS in my area, I'd be on them like stink on...trash. |
