Latency & Issues on EVDO

Latency certainly makes conversation difficult on EVDO, but out of curiosity, is it also particularly bad with jitter & packet loss?

Just wondering because regardless of which tower I'm associate to, I'm seeing 200ms jitter and 5-9% packet loss.

My personal experience in different areas of the country was that the jitter and packet loss were fine, it was the latency that really killed the experience. I didnt conduct any scientific tests mind you, all I did was fire up a VoIP call to see if it worked or not. I tried in from the West Coast all the way to the East Coast, and each time the speech of the other person was clear and uninterrupted (and they said mine was too), however the delay in transmission (latency) was unavoidable no matter what settings I tweaked.
