Could be something is unplugged.
Check the fans.
The computer may be overheating

everthing is pluged up like it should be. i have no idea why it does it. it all started when i put in a new hard drive. a simple install but beeps now. i think the guy sold me a refurbished drive and told me it was brand new.

Is the "Chirp" sound actually coming from the PC's Speaker, or could it be coming from the HD itself?

If it's actually coming from the HD, then check it's Power Saving properties in Device Manager ('Allow Windows to turn Off this device to save power')... The "Chirp" may just be the HD coming back up from it's Power-Save ("Spin-Down") mode...

Just a Thought...

If You're Unsure, "RTFM"... If You're SURE, "RTFM" Anyway.

it sounds like it could be coming from either the drive or pc speaker. power saving is turned off on all drives.
