Re: Proposed Changes in Windstorm Coverage

That is a real killer bill in this economy. Selling a house down there may be just about impossible if that passes. How many beach front properties are going to sell for less than $200K for primary dwelling only with limited wind coverage. It would be years for Galveston and other coastal communities to recover from this.

Not sure why you would want to move to Amarillo . . . Amarillo is one of the windiest cities in America, not to mention being in Tornado Alley.

Sarcasm and the Internet never were a good mix. I fixed my statement.

Thanks for passing on yucky news, Steve. My friends that own four beach houses on the Island (rental property) are not going to happy about this. If this bill passes, then the beach home rental business in Galveston will stop being a vital economic contributor to the much needed economy down there.

Bill strips vacation homes of windstorm insurance

This news went over like a pregnant pole vaulter. I guess we'll all be moving to Amarillo.
