If you are indeed telling the truth you will be found out and prosecuted.
Any casual criminal can get away with a few major crimes without the cops noticing... but constantly holding up a sign saying "I'm guilty!" is only going to draw the cops to you inevitably. -- Blagojevich / Madoff 2012!

I find that hard to believe. How do businesses which make extensive use of the internet get the kind of bandwidth they need?
I do not think that any residential user needs an amount of bandwidth that "justifies" hacking multiple cable modems (I am not saying you do this, please do not take it personally). If a person does, then a business class internet connection would most likely be a better choice. -- Blagojevich / Madoff 2012!

| | | Re: Fools 2 good techs with the help of the local NOC could track them down, figure out which UBR they are connected to, start pulling services at the node, watch for modems to drop, trace it down to the trunk, then the distribution...depending on the size of the system, maybe a couple of hours. It will only take 1 person to get caught and for it to hit the media....if they truely wanted to it is possible to track...just because you have a hacked modem does not mean your safe. Also too...people have too much time on their hands, Morons more like it that need to steal to get 5 minutes of pleasure. | |
