Gloomy all day, and now we have light misty rain. Wind is also blowing. Guess the weather gods don't want me to get back outside and finish cleaning up the backyard!

When we moved into our current house, we didn't realize it was in the middle of a "stream". When it rains real hard, water flows around it and on down across our neighbor's front yard. We then refer to it as "Lake Summers is up". Water has never been in the house, though. |

We had a thunderstorm here a couple of hours ago. My backyard looked like a lake from all the rain.

Looked big a nasty on the radar, but the closer it got the more it moved north, so by the time it actually "hit" it was little more than the last few hairs on the dogs tail. Heavy rain for about 5 minutes. This storm had a lot more bark than bite for us. Lawn and garden are starting to look great. Can't wait for the weekend again the outdoor temps are at their best these days. |

| Yes, we are still low on rain for this area, but I finally got back outside to work after the last days of rain. No reason to compact the soil by digging in there when it's very wet. I was going to plant some flowers today that didn't get planted before the last rains. I didn't want to play with the fire ants in that bed, so hopefully zapped them. I hope to get the flowers in the ground tomorrow.
I instead trimmed bushes and my body was tired from the upper arm exercises, so didn't get it all picked up. I was watching the weather channel this evening and found out rain is coming Monday, for several days.
If anyone is bored, come on down to help me finish a few things in my backyard cleanup before the rains come again!
