 | gta 4 those running gta 4 on a dual core cpu will see an improvement. But for that kind of cash. I would wait and do upgrades. 200 Bucks goes a long way to a processor. |

| While it is extravagant and should only be bought after you already have upgraded your cpu/ram/video card/internet connection I have heard it makes a noticeable different for world of warcraft. Oddly enough I heard it's not nearly as noticeable in first person shooters. |

 | reply to quatra i dont know the difference b/w this and some of the other better standard NICs, but ive read a LOT of good things about the Killer NICs in MMOs. people's pings being cut in half is significant. significant enough for $>80 for old model or >$130 for new ones...not for me, but saying this is all fluff and marketing isnt really true. the reivews ive read claim it works as advertised and even increases FPS significantly in some games like MMOs. i've read in wow that FPS is limited more on network congestion than on video hardware once you have a capable system.
i too was extremely skeptical when the 1st models were announced, but all the in-depth reviews ive seen show very good results in real-world gaming. i could understand picking one up if it were about half price. -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r

fcislerPremium join:2004-06-14 Riverhead, NY | I'd like to see the same people "upgrade" to an Intel PCI-E NIC and see if their issues are resolved.
Hell, If someone were willing to do a blind test I'd mail them my old Intel gigabit PCI-E. It's served me well but the Intel iSCSI adapter that replaced it has been serving me very well.
Now if I could just afford something that would utilize the iSCSI..... |

DarkLogixPremium join:2008-10-23 Baytown, TX kudos:3 | I'm willing to do a blind test but I already have an intel Pro/1000 CT and a cisco gig switch so someone would need to send the killer nic to do a blind test
and my current rig is about 5 years old so it only has pci not pci-e (might be time to build a new rig)
so sorry but I don't think I'll be doing any tests with a killer nic |

However that may true some people don't have the money for another pc/ or their mobo doesn't support a higher processor, this will atleast take the stress off of their current Processor so their pc will last longer. -- Visit- www.liveleak.com/view?i=e32_1231680425 |
