Some argue that because you have a faster speed tier, doesn't mean you will download more..I say you do.
The fact that you have faster speeds you would be downloading more because well..your not waiting forever to download that one item anymore, so you can go on to your next download.
Or the fact that people would be uploading more, and at a faster rate.

If you want to download some 720P H264 movies you can, at D2 speeds, download the movie faster than you can watch it. So that means by the time the first movie was done playing you could have another downloaded already. So unless someone is just downloading stuff like a pack rat and not actually watching it they wouldn't really have a chance to download more with a faster package. None of the Internet streams are anywhere near fast enough to push a D2 modem much less a D3. |

This may be true, maybe not. Doesn't it depend on the profile of the user? If I watch a youtube video, the higher speed will simply keep the video from jittering and pausing.
When I am downloading a large file, a manual for instance, the download starts and I'm on to email while it completes. If my speed were infinite, I'd not download more, I'd just go back and forth less. |
