If you sign up with a WISP they will provide the equipment either on their dime, your dime, or a rental charge. They will most likely drop an ethernet connection to you, which may be NAT'ted or might be straight routed.
You won't need USB or amplifiers or any of that stuff. Most all WISP's will allow you to use your own router so you should be good to go there too.
Be sure to check with the wisp about their network latency, if they support VoIP, and in general their reliability. Most anything out there is going to be better than Wild Blue in terms of throughput and latency. -- "No job is so important, and no service is so urgent that we cannot take the time to perform our work safely." -- AT&T, Your World, Destroyed. --Safety One Tower Rescue Certified --LLigetfa:"Wimax is like teenage sex.
