Suddenlink Downloads Princeton, WV

I am having a terrible time with Suddenlink. Since late last week, we have been having poor performance in World of Warcraft with random lag spikes and disconnects. Additionally, the Netflix instant videos I typically watch on my Xbox 360 have been totally useless. It either detects a good connection and takes 15 minutes to buffer only to stop playing after 30 seconds of the movie or it detects my internet speed as too slow to use the instant queue service.

I have run numerous tests on speedtest.net and I get totally different results from each server. For instance, I get 200-400k speed on the recommended Greensboro connection, and 6000k on the Atlanta connection. Every one I try is either horrible, or right on the money with what I should see. Something is not right and the rep I just spoke with won't even acknowledge a problem because everything looks good on their "official" speed test site: »speedtest.wv.suddenlink.net/.

This is very frustrating, and for the techs to basically say it isn't on their end when I have two services that used to work and no longer work is beyond my comprehension.

Been getting dumped from WoW the past couple days myself. Persistent 500ms+ times leading to disconnects when anything interesting happens on screen. Speed tests seem to be normal.. hoping its just some bad luck with a router somewhere. Unplayable in its current state.

Hi Necrioth,

In order to assist you, more information is needed. Can you please post a tracert to the sites/servers that you're having issues with?

@suddenlink.net

Here's the tracert to my WoW server. The timeouts at the end are OK because it's hitting WoW's firewall.

On a good note, I hit a point today where I got kicked from WoW and actually started getting timeout errors at websites. I called Suddenlink back and they said something looked fishy with my power levels so they're sending someone out tomorrow. Hopefully they'll figure something out.

Same in Green Acres ever since they changed our ip to 173. from 75. the speeds are less than 1mbs or right on. I have the 12meg package and been getting less 1meg at peak time real crappy.

The change from 75 to 173 IPs should have actually made an improvement due to routing changes. You likely have a different issue affecting your service.

I've finally come out of the closet (so to speak), and I'm now listed on the Official List of Suddenlink representatives, so if you would like to register an account here on the forum so that you can use the PM system, and then send me a message with your CM MAC address, I'll check into your issue.

A group of us that play in the 25312 area of Charleston have been seeing the same. Anytime we get into a 10 or 25man we have massive disconnects that continue over and over. Contacted a tech on Live Help on Suddenlink's site and he asked me if I could send and receive emails and that was all they support. I contacted Pete Abel See Profile yesterday and will continue to post if i find anything new out. Some of our other players in the area are not seeing this.

PS: Not on my home pc atm but from my tracerts I remember seeing as high as 200+ ms on the same router as his 5th hop.

This at 3:30pm and it will get worse the closer we get to peek time. Since we changed to 173. ip ping has always been over 100ms, but with the 75 ip it was never over 100.

Around 3pm today, everything randomly fixed itself. Everyone else has the same luck I'm having, now.

I was having the same issues, then today at noon or so, the speeds came back. Then as of a few hours ago, I'm back to terrible sub 1k speeds on the 6mb plan.

This is at 2:00am. It seems to me suddenlink doesn't have enough bandwidth for peek time.
