Re: Why? I've also had the same modem for close to six years. Comcast was running a promo at the time, and after a year I was able to keep the modem (at the time the modem's were selling for around $120). The rental fee was $9.95 so I basically got the modem for retail cost. They continuerd to charge renters that fee for...well, they might STILL be charging that fee for all I know.
Bottom line: it was much cheaper for me to buy then to own (I figured I've saved at least $500). |
