After you log in to the router, go to Administration -> Management

The screen will look something like this

»ui.linksys.com/files/WRT54G/v1-v···ment.htm

Enter in the new password two times (Router Password and Re-enter to confirm).

Click save.

FYI, DDWRT has both of these turned on by default.

Don't need em, disable em.

Yea, I just saw that, wasn't sure if that was the right one or not. Thanks.

SSHd was not enabled for me on the standard version SP1. Perhaps you are using an older or newer version?

Telnet was enabled by default but I am going to keep it on.

what about disabling remote access? I *think* this one is off (image) by default, this is V24sp1/mini.. I didn’t read the entire article by it says “with SSH or telnet open on the WAN end” so I would think this would also help lock it down....

SSH is disabled by default, and you should leave Telnet enable for future failures in your router, and besides Telnet can only be used locally.
