| [IMG] Favorites set up saves totally different channels?
Sorry if this is covered, I did try to search and could not find my particular favorites bug.
I have never bothered to use favorites until recently. When I tried a simple four channel favorites list of the HD versions of HBO, Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax to easily search and schedule Saturday premieres, it seemed to store my channels. But, when I hit the favorites button the guide popped up with four unrelated SD channels. (I think BBC America was one of them, I am not in front of the TV now.) I have tried saving those channels as Favorites 1 and Favorites 2 with the same result.
I am currently on 1.6.0 for another week or so according to the almost always reliable info I read in this forum!
Thanks. |

1 edit | Your problem is a known issue and a fix was made for it long ago. Call FiOS and tell them of your trouble and have them do a reset of your STB, or try unpluging it yourself for 30 seconds and see if that takes care of it.
Doing a search in this forum on "favorites" brings up other threads on the same issue! |

Had this issue and the unplugging reset won't cure it. You need to have Verizon do a re-initialize of the box, not just a reset. This will kill the existing favorites and require you to reset the parental and purchase PIN (if you set one). -- REMEMBER: Stupidity should be painful !! |

| OK, I need to share a success story in fairness here. I waited until my day off today to call and have my DVR reinitialized expecting it take 30-45 minutes or more. I got an associate on the line in less than four minutes (that's never happened to me before). She was familiar with the issue, knew she had to reinitialize to resolve it, and got it done fast. The entire process took less than ten minutes. I did have the initial awkwardness of her searching for my account for a minute because I don't have phone service with them, but even that wasn't as bad as before. Most importantly, the problem is fixed.
On a separate note I recently returned an SD STB to a Verizon B and M store and did not have to call about billing at all. The next bill had the correct adjustments.
These are anecdotal examples I know, but hopefully they indicate a positive trend in VZ customer service. Of course YMMV... |
