Westell 6100 Verizon problem

i am trying to log into my westell DSL modem to try and forward a port for a program. i have verizon DSL internet, i can log into my verizon homepage with my verizon.net user ID and password, but when i try and log into the modem to forward a port, it tells me the password and ID are incorrect.

i have looked around all over the internet and found a post on this messageboard saying that the password/ID for a westell 6100 moden that is using verizon DSL should be your verizon.net ID/password, but it's apparently not in my case. i have also tried the westell default username and password as well (admin/password).

i really do not want to have to call verizon support (i don't like waiting for hours on end, really) so if anyone can help. please do!

Give admin/admin a shot. If that doesnt work, and a family member (parent, sibling, etc) setup the modem check with to see what they may have set the username and password to, failing that, reset the modem to factory defaults (the reset button should be right next to the power switch on the back) and try admin/password and admin/admin again.
