@charter.com

had 2mb upload for a week then it was gone

Okay the 20/2 upgrade is still not available in my area. After a few attempts to try and get this service 2mb upload speeds started happening. It was totally consistent for a few days and now it is gone.WTF. I just want the 2mb upload be it for pay or free. Anyone have any idea why I got those speeds for a wfew days? Or when we will no longer be stuck in the 10/1 iceage. zipcode is 91001.

Unfortunately 2mb upload will not be available until 20/2 is launched in your area. If you want to register with the site and send me your phone# and name I can see if there are plans to launch 20/2 where you live anytime soon.

This is a commonergh I have with charter. I don't seee why that info would be needed my zip code be enough info. The zip comprises only 8.9 sq miles. That comprises of 40k people. Also it is in the LA area, and all areas that surround me alreadyy have this upgrade. Also Busineess service is available here trhat has 2mb upload. Though there is no reason I should have to pay 3x for service that is available everywhere else.
Lastly these answers should remain in the public domain. what is the ppoint of forums if the answers are given privately.
thanks

Markets are not designated only by Zip Code and certain services are only offered in certain markets. A phone number will let me know exactly what is available in that area. It is not "private" information however it is customer specific so posting information for services available for one customer has no bearing on anyone else unless they live in the same market.

I sent u my phone #. I live in Los Angeles if charter was not in my area I would have considerably faster service available to me through Comcast. My cellphone has almost comprable upload speeds. Business service with 2mb upload has been available in this area for a year +++. The 20/2 is available less than a mile a way. It has been over 1 yr since the 16/2 upgrades started to roll out. I'm stuck with shoddy service because of a cash strapped bankrupted company.

Re: had 2mb upload for a week then it was gone

If you were getting 2mbps for a week then it was a glitch that was found and fixed. You may have been able to reach that speed however it is not what you are subscribed to and the network in your area is not built for those speeds yet so they are not offered.

Please refrain from reposting any private communications or I will be unable to help you further via this website. This is a public forum in which we are able to help customers however any information or discussion held via PM needs to remain private. Service inquiries vary by market as I stated previously. If another customer requests information then we will submit a new request for them.

As I stated I will contact you via pm once I obtain the information you requested.

Thank you.

It is not personal as in actual customer information however it is a private discussion about information that varies from customer to customer and should be kept private to minimize the chance for misinformation to spread.

We are here to help and anyone that sends us a private message should have faith that we will not repost it and this rule should work both ways. Anyone having market specific questions is more than welcomed to contact us however please understand that it is market specific and does not apply many of the other people that read the public forums.

Why not state the information applies only to said market then? Doing it the way you are makes it appear that you are hiding information. Which goes against the entire principle of having a forum.

My second post in this thread states that certain services are only available in certain markets and I restated that in following posts. There is no intent on hiding anything. The reason that market specific inquiries are done on a customer to customer basis is to avoid misinformaton from one customer to the next and ensure that we provide correct information to those asking.

Available services also change in different markets very frequently. We would like to provide up to date and current information about those services at the time that the question is asked. Information about current offerings and services can also of course be found at »www.charter.com at any time.

Which does absolutely nothing to address what I said. Even if you do not post it out in the open, users will communicate the information. The odds of the information being corrupted (not relayed exactly the same as was intended) dramatically increases by doing it in this manner.

It is also a well known fact that the majority of the information on www.charter.com is dated. In many cases the information is years out of date (is service available in certain areas, etc).

Even if the intent is not to hide information, doing things in this manner gives the appearance of doing so. I am not asking for any customer specific (Mac,SSN, whatever) but rather general information. If Alabama(wherever) is having a router(whatever) issue, just say so. This in no way compromises any customers.

He's not talking about outages, Lazlow, he's talking about availability of services.
