When connected, you should see real world speeds somewhere around 1Mbps downstream, and 300kbps upstream.

San Francisco, CA | I'm guessing it will be higher than that 1Mbps down, 300kbps up. My G1 will consistently pull 1.3 to 1.6Mbps down and 400 to 600kbps up. Aren't those USB modems usually capable of higher speeds? |

Whenever there's a story on TMO here at BBR, they try to lowball absolutely everything and harp on the same issues, yet for TMO's competition, they try to blow sunshine up their asses - particularly if it's ATT.
